If you follow European news then you’re probably tired of seeing the name Boris, but the news that this Boris is coming to Budapest has got techno lovers beyond excited. No, it’s not Boris Johnson, although he would make quite the DJ, it’s the legendary Boris Brejcha who’ll be spinning the decks and making the Papp László Sportaréna shake. The techno titan will be doing an exclusive 3-hour set, supported by other upcoming names in the scene such as Ann Clue, Deniz Bull and more. So make sure you get a good rest the night before and be ready to rave to the sounds of techno till the early morn. It going to be an absolute banger.

The works are judged by beady-eyed photo-philes, with winners selected from 78,801 pictures, taken by 4738 photographers. A truly immersive and thought-provoking experience that you can’t leave Budapest without checking out.

Jazzy Festival


The stage is set for much-awaited Jazzy Festival |MOMKult

If getting down to the sound of Jazz and swing is your kind of thing, then the Jazzy Festival is one event you can’t miss. For two days, as the MOMKult welcomes talented Jazz Musicians from near and far. This years event in collaboration with Paloznaki Jazzpiknik, the team behind their namesake outdoor Summer jazz bonanza. Performing at this year’s festival are renowned Jazz bands Club Des Belugas and Kraak & Smaak. This promises to be quite the night filled with magic music, so get ready to swing into the late night to the sounds of Jazz.

Budapest English Comedy Night


Get ready to LOL, it’s comedy night at Becketts Irish Bar|Jack Holmes

Becketts is Budapest’s oldest and most revered Irish Bar, having first opened its doors in 1994. After a brief period of closure in late 2014, they re-opened here at Liszt Ferenc tér, and are going stronger than ever. A great spot to stop by for a Guinness, but also a must-visit because of cool events and themed nights they host. Gracing the stage at the Beckett this October for a night of laughs will be comedian Jack Holmes. The British funnyman will have you creasing and crying of laughter, as he stops off in Budapest as part of his “Troubled” European tour.

Psychadelic vibes await at the Vanishing Point Festival|Vanishing Point

Mention festival and Budapest in the same sentence, and for most people Sziget Festival will come to mind. However, the city is home to some fledgeling Festivals, which although unknown are pretty damn awesome. Vanishing Point definitely falls into that category, with the psych-rock festival returning for its third year. This year promises to be better than ever, with the biggest names in the underground psych-rock scene performing, these include The Qualitons, BO NINGEN and more. So get ready rock your body to the sounds of psychedelic beats.
